EARLY DEVELOPMENT / FUNDAMENTAL sKILLS

Co-ed for Boys & Girls in Grades 3–8

SSD Early Development / Fundamental Skills

Volleyball where the focus is to teach the game of volleyball in a fun way to youth players. The emphasis is on fundamental skill development with the help of modified rules and equipment. Our teaching philosophy is to emphasize the components of Fun, Fair Play and Positive Attitude while the participant learns to play the game of volleyball. Our volleyball coaches are professionally trained in the approach and philosophy. Volleyball skills development for players with limited or no competitive volleyball experience.

Program features skills development drills, balance and conditioning, competitions and scrimmage each session.

Grades 3 - 8 split by age groups grades 3-5 & 6-8 on separate courts. Registration includes: 9 weeks of skills instruction, Family Fun Day, Mini-Tournament, plus a t-shirt, ball (new players) & water bottle and cinch bag.

 

cOMPETITION PREPARATION / LEARN TO COMPETE

Co-ed for Boys & Girls in Grades 6-9

SSD Competition Preparation / Learn to Compete

Advanced skills program for players serious about playing volleyball at a competitive level on school teams and potentially club teams.

Our sessions are designed for those playing school volleyball to continue their skills development as well as prepare those who wish to play club volleyball after the school season.

We also offer the only U13 & U16 Development League in Calgary Fall (September - December) Winter (January - March) and the Spring (April - June). Our league is ideal for players who love the game of volleyball and want to play in a league environment to gain more experience. This is an excellent opportunity for those players’ who are playing junior high school or high school JV or aspiring to play club volleyball, and want to continue playing in a competitive environment and further their skills development. Registration is on a first come, first served basis so anyone can play. NO TRYOUTS!
